Is it safe for MRI Room
Yes, MRI Room Alert is safe for MRI Room.

After Mechanical, Electrical installation and successful MRI Room Alert testing, the user is encouraged to test workflow. Generally speaking, a user in the MRI room will actuate the MRI Room Alert with a physical
button touch or a vocal phrase call out. When the remote is alerted the
base unit will produce a Sonic alarm and optionally announce the automated alert message (Example: Call is coming from the MRI Room remote: “Zone 1”). The base unit will dial the designated staff phone number and a two-way phone conversation will begin by hitting a 3 to
listen and a 1 to talk, between the person or persons in the MRI room
and the designated person who answers the phone. Additionally, up to six people will receive its pre-designed text alert and up to six people will receive a pre-designed email.

Will the MRI Room Alert alter the amount of MRI technologists needed to run an MRI scanner?
No MRI related product should be used in place of trained MRI room staff as per ACR guidelines.
How reliable is the Room Alert?
The underlying technology it's from a company that's been in business from 28 years and has sold 15 million products throughout the world.
Is devices approved by FDA?
The devices are not FDA approved and they do not
require FDA approval as they are telecommunications devices and not clinical devices. Devices are FCC part 15 approved and UL approved in both the United States
and Canada. There are no other certifications necessary for the device's intended use.
Who will be notified by the system?
The user decides who will receive the outbound phone call, text messages, emails, and where to place the base unit, which will generate audible alerts. One main and up to five designated individuals can receive separate notifications through text messages and emails, and an audible alert will be generated at the base unit. This can be heard by a room full of people or a single person, depending on where the unit is located. The system can alert a minimum of 10-15 people when fully utilized. These people are customizable and are typically facility staff.
Methods of the device notification?

Assurances in place the notification could not be missed?

Proximity of notification recipients (Zone III or elsewhere?)
Designated staff can receive alert notifications anywhere inside or outside the facility, and the base unit can be put up to 2400 ft away from the MRI room depending on facility layout.
Frequency of testing to ensure the device is functioning as intended?
The frequency of the "supervisory" or "timer" test can be adjusted, but the default setting is every 24 hours. Additionally, Internally, the system checks cellular registration every 3 seconds and it will automatically check-in with the base unit every 3 hours without any visible prompts.
Any privacy impact of an always-listening device?
The MRI Room Alert uses keyword spotting technology to recognize wake words that initiate GSM wireless communication outside of the MRI room. The MRI Room Alert does not use AVR (advanced voice recognition) technology, so it does not have any way to listen to or record MRI room conversations thus there will be no issue with HIPPA, data collection, or other privacy concerns. The MRI room alert uses GSM wireless protocol for Communications and never uses facility wired or wireless internet. So the MRI room alert can never be a network security concern for your IT Department and your facility.
